 Background
The
first Medic Africa was held in Lagos, Nigeria in 1987. Since that
time the event has moved around the continent, initially on an
annual basis, but more recently on a 6-month rotation. Venues to
host the meetings include: Abidjan, Accra, Lagos, Addis Ababa,
Nairobi, Kampala, Dar es Salaam, Harare and Johannesburg.
No
other event provides quite such a concentrated focus on all aspects
of healthcare and medicine in a very specialised way. Each meeting
includes one or more conference programmes running in parallel to the
exhibition. High quality speakers and topical programmes add
strongly to the attraction of each meeting, ensuring a strong
turnout of medical professionals.
